Map locating watershed in Michigan Located in southwest Michigan,
the Augusta Creek watershed covers 30 square miles, has 40 linear miles of pristine free-flowing water, and contains 11 noteworthy lakes. The stream arises as outflows from Gilkey and Fair Lakes in southcentral Barry County, and flows southward to its confluence with the Kalamazoo River at Augusta in northwest Kalamazoo County (click blue rectangle for map). The watershed lies within a rectangle with a NW corner of 42 deg 31' lat, 85 deg 22' long and a SE corner of 42 deg 19' lat, 85 deg 17' long.

Augusta Creek is characterized by forested wet lands, rolling farm fields, 33 species of fish, including trout, and the southernmost population of wild loons in Michigan.The stream is accessible to the public at the W.K. Kellogg Experimental Forest (owned by Michigan State University) and at the hunting and fishing area between B and C Avenues in Ross Township, which is owned by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
