Road construction through marsh on 45th Street.
The Kalamazoo County Road Commission is working (11/10/96) on 45th Street where the road crosses the marsh just south of B Ave. Recent rains had caused some erosion of road-grade material into the marsh. This area near Hamilton Lake has been used as a dumping ground by local residents. The ACWA monitors the toad and frog populations and the water level in this marsh. Runoff from sloping farmland that is cultivated to edge of the marsh is of concern. |
