Shaw Lake, with its 1.9 ha surface area and 5.5 max depth this lake is the smallest lake in our sampling program. This lake has a public access and an undeveloped shoreline. It is oligotrophic (TP ~6.5) low productivity lake with chlorophyll-a levels averaging 3.3 µg/L. The depth ratio of 0.62 indicates a steep shoreline. Common planktonic cladocerans in summer are Daphnia dentifera and Daphnia pulicaria and Diaphanosoma birgei. The main planktivores are bluegill (Lepomis macrochirus) and pumpkinseed (L. gibbosus) sunfish, large mouth bass (Micropterus salmoides) is the main piscivore.
