Internships at the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary
The Kellogg Bird Sanctuary offers two 15-week internship opportunities during the summer (May-August) and in the fall (September-December). Juniors, Seniors and recent graduates with a background in biology, ecology, pre-vet, fisheries & wildlife, education and parks & rec are encouraged to apply.
Naturalist Internship
- Develop and maintain on-site education exhibits
- Develop and deliver educational and outreach programs
- Lead public tours of sanctuary
- Assist in weekly bird counts on the Sanctuary grounds
- Resource Center assistant welcoming visitors
Wildlife Management Internship
- Routine care of captive wildlife
- Breeding and rearing of birds
- Waterfowl trapping and banding
- Assist in bird surveys within the area
