Internships at the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary

The Kellogg Bird Sanctuary offers two 15-week internship opportunities during the summer (May-August) and in the fall (September-December).  Juniors, Seniors and recent graduates with a background in biology, ecology, pre-vet, fisheries & wildlife, education and parks & rec are encouraged to apply.

Naturalist Internship

  • Develop and maintain on-site education exhibits
  • Develop and deliver educational and outreach programs
  • Lead public tours of sanctuary
  • Assist in weekly bird counts on the Sanctuary grounds
  • Resource Center assistant welcoming visitors

Wildlife Management Internship

  • Routine care of captive wildlife
  • Breeding and rearing of birds
  • Waterfowl trapping and banding
  • Assist in bird surveys within the area
