Summer Science Camp: Backyard Biologists

Backyard Biologists Camp: Study the animals that live in the Sanctuary! Each day we will focus on a different group on animals: birds, amphibians and reptiles, insects and more!

 

Children in grades 1st - 6th (2014-15 school year) will explore the Sanctuary grounds, Kellogg Forest and the Kellogg Biological Station engaging in fun, hands-on games, activities and experiments. Science Camp is a great place to meet new friends and learn about science by exploring the natural world. Each week of day camps includes camp songs and games, swimming in Gull Lake on Friday afternoon and age-appropriate science experiments and activities.

Who: Children in grades 1st - 6th (for the 2014-2015 school year)

Where: Kellogg Bird Sanctuary, located near Augusta, five miles east of Richland and ten miles northwest of Battle Creek

When: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Parents may choose an early drop-off time at 8 a.m. for an additional fee.

Registration: Begins March 1, 2014. Continues until camps fill.

Fee: Members, $140/camper/week; Non-members, $160/camper/week. Early bird and Sanctuary member discounts available.

Discounts: Kellogg Bird Sanctuary members receive a $10 discount. Early bird registration receives a $10 discount. Multiple camp discount is $5 per session.
