A Man Devoted to Wildlife Conservation Joe Johnson portrait

Throughout his 48-year career as a wildlife biologist at the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary, Joe served as an informational resource for local and regional wildlife and conservation issues. He shared his expertise in wildlife and waterfowl biology, habitat preservation and species restoration with thousands of people.

To honor Joe's distinguished career at the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary, the Kellogg Biological Station established The Joe Johnson Endowment for Wildlife Conservation Fellowships fund.

This fellowship is awarded to student interns at the Kellogg Biological Station conducting research or studying wildlife conservation, species, habitat preservation and/or restoration.
