Sanctuary memberships are also available. Membership covers one year admission to the Sanctuary, 10% off items from the gift shop, reduced rates for Sanctuary programs and events, and a subscription to our electronic newsletter, The Trumpeter Times.
Grounds are open year round (9am-5pm)! November through April: 9am - 5pm May-October: 9am - 7pm Bookstore Hours: Year round: Weekdays 9am - 5pm Weekends: November-April 11am-4pm Saturday and Sunday; May-October 9am-5pm Saturday, 11am-4pm Sunday
Feel free to phone first (269-671-2510) to check whether the Bookstore is open during your visit. The shop hours may depend on volunteer availability. The Bookstore will be closed Dec. 30, 2011-Jan. 2, 2012, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday, Christmas eve and Christmas Day If you are interested in volunteering in our bookstore, please visit the volunteering page! Group Tours (Guided or Self-guided) Group tours take about one hour and fifteen minutes and are available year round. Each season offers special interest topics: • Spring - Nesting Booking a Tour - Our volunteer tour leaders are ready to greet you! When booking a tour, please include the date, time, number of people, and note any special needs, if applicable. We request that you book 4 weeks in advance for guided tours. Bird Sanctuary Trail Guide Trail guides (PDF) are also available in the Resource Center during normal hours. The 3/4-mile (1.27 km) Sanctuary trail runs alongside Wintergreen Lake, and offers a rewarding view of resident waterfowl; it continues through the birds of prey and gamebird enclosures areas, with plenty of benches for resting along the way. The paved trail is wheelcheer and stroller accessible. An aid or assistant may be necessary to push a wheelchair user up some inclines along the path. An extra standard wheelchair is available in the Resource Center for visitors who wish to use it. Features of the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary:
