We now have Wireless Internet Service in all meeting and lodging rooms at KBS. Meeting Rooms (link to meeting room dimensions) For a lodge cabin style secluded meeting site, we offer Spruce Lodge (located at the W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary-1 mile from KBS). Lodging The Conference Center offers several rooming styles. We have (30) apartments in Vanderploeg and Sheriff Halls. All apartments are equipped with a kitchenette, full-size refrigerators and stoves or microwaves, desk with chair, fans and TV's with dish network and wireless internet and private bathroom. The apartments sleep 79 people. One room apartments with two twin beds in main room (11' 5" X 14' bedroom/living area, kitchenette and private bathroom with shower). One room apartments sleep 1 to 2 people each. Two room apartments offer two twin beds in back bedroom and a sleeper couch in front living room area (17' 4' X 9' 10" living room, (1) 10' x 10' bedroom, kitchenette, private bathroom with tub).Two room apartments sleep 1 to 3 people each. We have (12) Orchard Dorm Suites each with two twin beds, bathrooms shared between two rooms (4 beds/1 bathroom per suite) with separate vanity areas that include a sink and counter space, a small refrigerator, in room phones, fans, desk with chair, computer network connections, wireless internet and TV's with cable. The Orchard Dorm Suites sleep 48 people. We have (2) Cabins overlooking Windmill Island offer an inexpensive option for groups who prefer bunk-style lodging with Cabin B sleeping 16 people with beds in two separate rooms (2 bathroom stalls & 2 showers in bathroom), dorm size refrigerator and microwave and Cabin C sleeping 20 people with all beds in the same room (3 bathroom stalls & 2 showers in bathroom), full size refrigerator and microwave. No additional cooking facilities are available inside cabins.The Cabins sleep 36 people. All housing is within walking distance to meeting rooms and McCrary Dining Hall. Housekeeping - To reduce the amount of water used in housekeeping no daily towel, linen or cleaning service will be provided during your stay. Rooms will be cleaned upon departure. We are adopting environmental procedures and policies. We invite you to join with us to conserve water by using your towels and linen more than once. In addition to decreasing water and energy consumption, you help us reduce the amount of detergent waste water that must be recycled within our community. Extra linen, provided upon request. Dining & Our Professional Catering Team Our Chef offers superb meals serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner in our friendly McCrary Dining Room and Deck Area overlooking beautiful Gull Lake. All meals served in McCrary Dining Hall are buffet style and include beverages, bread, full salad bar, soups, entree and dessert. All guests will receive the same selection. All meals in McCrary Dining Hall are served chef's choice. During meal service there may be multiple conference groups, KBS staff, students and/or researchers served along with your group. Our chef has created many fun and delicious options for your meals -- barbeques, ethnic themes to formal plated or buffet receptions served at the W.K. Kellogg Manor House (next door to McCrary Dining Hall). We have wireless internet, a ceiling mounted LCD projector, large screen and TV with dish network in McCrary Dining Hall. Private meals can be served in the Kellogg Manor House. Audio/Visual Recreation The W.K. Kellogg Conference Center offers a number of recreational activities. Enjoy swimming, fishing in Gull Lake. Volleyball, soccer, football, basketball and horseshoes are available -- or take a walk along the trails on our quarter-mile lakefront where you will come upon a pagoda and gardens, a reflection pool, and picnic areas. Go bird watching, tell stories around a bonfire, watch a beautiful sunset over the lake or stay up late and go star gazing. The Orchards offers an activity room open to all guests, equipped tavern size pool table, TV/VCR and Cable TV and air conditioning. Related Areas of Interest
