The Importance of Native Plants Cathy and Mike McMinn, operators of Treecology native plant nursery, will speak about the necessity of native plants in a healthy, wildlife-supporting landscape.
Native Plants in your Backyard by Dr. Michael Klug, former MSU faculty and KBS Director
Spend the day listening to a variety of gardening topics where presenters will address new trends, environmental studies and special interests. These classes will meet the requirements to fulfill Master Gardner education credits.
Culinary Basics of Kitchen & Food Safety to Encourage Healthy Eating-

$70.00 per class (10% discount per class when registering for all five classes)
Enjoy a five week course involving hands-on learning and cooking at least one recipe. Students are not required to attend all sessions in the first set of classes and are able to choose classes “a la carte.” However, classes do build upon the previous class; therefore, those with less culinary and/or nutrition experience are encouraged to attend multiple classes from the start.
Classes taught by Chef, Stephanie Hughes and Nutritionist, Kelly Norman co-owners of Sustainable Bites.

Create a beautiful wreath that can be displayed through Thanksgiving using natural materials and corn tassels with guidance from expert designer, Sherri Snyder of Gull Lake Landscape Co. All materials will be provided, bringing shears or sharp pruners is recommended
Fall Swag - October 8, 2014
6-8pm. $40 per person.
Create a beautiful swag that can be displayed horizontally or vertically using natural materials. These gorgeous swags are a beautiful addition to your indoor or outdoor décor. Used indoors, the sways will last one year.
Holiday Wreath Workshop - December 2, 2014
Create a beautiful round wreath with a variety of luxurious, mixed evergreens and a bow that can proudly be displayed throughout the holiday season with guidance from expert designer, Sherri Snyder of Gull Lake Landscape Co. All materials will be provided, bringing shears or sharp pruners is recommended, as well as nitrile type garden gloves.
Holiday Arrangment- December 17, 2014
6-8pm.$40 per person.
Floral arrangements add natural beauty to your décor, as well as provide an excellent hostess gift. Learn how to make this easy, long lasting floral arrangement that can be used throughout the holiday season. All materials will be provided, but bringing sharp pruners is recommended.
Floral classes include seasonal soup and bread, coffee, spiced tea and bottled water. Guests may bring their own alcoholic beverage. These classes start at 6:00 p.m.
Floral Wreath Classes are offered at Spruce Lodge located at Kellogg Bird Sanctuary.
