KBS welcomes new postdoctoral research associate in Robertson Lab

Ekrem Ozlu

We’re excited to have Ekrem Ozlu at the W.K. Kellogg Biological Station, having joined us earlier this autumn as a postdoctoral research associate in the Robertson Lab.

Ekrem comes to KBS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he earned a Ph.D. in soil science. He also holds a M.S. in plant science from South Dakota State University and a B.S. in soil science and plant nutrition from Atatürk University in Erzurum, Turkey.

Research that Ekrem is interested in involves carbon and nitrogen cycles, carbon stabilization, soil aggregation, geostatistics and geo-computing.

Arriving at KBS in time to witness the changing of the leaves—a beautiful time of year in Southwest Michigan—might have been the most normal part of Ekrem’s move.

“Graduating during a pandemic made the Class of 2020 unforgettable in my previous institution, but also starting a job during the pandemic was unique, unusual, and memorable,” he says. ” I am looking forward to working with everyone in KBS community.”

Welcome, Ekrem. We’re so glad you’re here!
