Each month this winter, the Overlook will host themed activities in a cozy, indoor space overlooking Wintergreen Lake. The Overlook is located along the Sanctuary’s 3/4-mile Paved Path, and the activities are ideal for children ages 3-6.

Featuring an animal rehab center in the dynamic play area and a wild animal footprint rubbing craft. - February — Geology Lab
Featuring “a day as a geologist” in the dynamic play area, a duck stamp design craft, and information on the Great Backyard Bird Count set for Feb. 16-19. - March — Great Big Sky
Featuring “a day as a meteorologist” in the dynamic play area, a weather book craft, and information on the spring bird migration.
The W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary is located at 12685 East C Ave. in Augusta. Winter hours are Wednesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
