Sensory-Friendly Family Time at the Overlook Building

What to expect:

The Kellogg Bird Sanctuary is proud to offer a sensory-friendly opportunity.

Once a week, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., we will reserve our Overlook Building specifically for access by families who have a member with sensory sensitivities. Hands-on activities will be available, along with crafts & books. Families are welcome to bring their own manipulative, comfort objects, headphones, electronics, and other support items. This once a week offering will start on July 10^th and continue each Friday, through to August 28^th.

All of our trails will be open and available for those participating in Family-Friendly Time, as well as open to our other guests. Starting at 10 a.m. you can enjoy feeding the waterfowl, for $1 per cup of food.

• Dates: Fridays starting on July 10th and running through to August 28th, 2026
• Time: 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. 
• Audience: Families with members who have sensory sensitivities
• No registration required
• Cost: Members are free
              Non-members: general admission $6/adults, $5/seniors and students, $4/children ages 2-17
