Bring your little explorers to the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary for a fun and interactive experience called Storybook Walk. Each month we display pages from a new book for visitors to read as they travel along our accessible ¾ mile Paved Path.

  • Featured Book for July: Mama Built a Little Nest, by Jennifer Ward
  • Book Summary: Mama Built a Little Nest celebrates the amazing variety of bird
nests-muddy, twiggy, silky, tiny, or tall. With playful rhymes and charming illustrations,
it introduces children to the many ways birds care for their young. Families can enjoy
reading together outdoors while discovering the ways that birds build their homes.
  • Audience: Family
  • Reading Age: 3-6 years
  • Language: English

Don’t forget to stop by the Sanctuary Overlook after you finish Storybook Walk to learn more bird nests.

Free to members, regular admission fee for non-members.

Accessible throughout the month during normal business hours.
Closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
