Join the K-12 Partnership’s Distributed Schoolyard Ecology Project!

Are you a secondary science teacher looking to transform your classroom?

We are hosting an exciting professional learning day to share our year of groundbreaking work and invite you to join us! The Schoolyard Ecology Project started as the seed of an idea to design observational and experimental protocols to understand the ecology of schoolyards across Michigan. An interdisciplinary team of scientists and educators met throughout 2025-26 to dream big and collaborate – click here to read a blog about the project.

What You’ll Experience:

  • Discover the power of distributed experiments in real science
  • Preview engaging lessons and hands-on student activities
  • Build capacity and mentorship for the year ahead
  • Connect with fellow educators
  • Close with forest bathing to enjoy some time in nature

Why Participate?

Your students will engage in project-based, place-based, and problem-based learning while monitoring their schoolyard.

Real science. Real impact. Real growth

Ready to bring ecological learning to life? Click here to register!

Who should participate?
