This program is free, but registration is required by June 20.  Register HERE.

Please join us for ‘Michigan Mosquitoes – Pesky Nuisance or Winged Zika-Wielding Assassins?’ with Dr. Michael Kaufman, professor and outreach specialist, Department of Entomology, Michigan State University.  Dr. Kaufman teaches a disease vectors course for undergraduates and graduates at KBS each summer and does larval mosquito ecology research and testing of mosquitoes for viral disease agents.  On Jun 21 from 7:15-8:15pm he will share local mosquito biology to help us understand our disease systems.  He will also talk about Zika, why it is not likely to be a threat to most Michigan residents, and what you should consider when opting for mosquito control measures.

This program is free, but registration is required by June 20.  Register HERE.

This evening talk is part of our Professional Development series for students studying at KBS this summer.  Because of the importance of the topic we are opening the program up to our neighbors and supporters, we hope you can join us.

Questions?  Kara Haas, Science Education and Outreach Coordinator
