Hone your creative skills and put a new twist on this year’s holiday decorations at three DIY craft events offered at the W.K. Kellogg Biological Station.

Offered by the W.K. Kellogg Conference Center and Manor House and Sherri Snyder, owner of Green Goddess Gardens, the classes will meet in the KBS Carriage House’s classroom from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost for each event is $45, and registration is required. A Boxwood Wreath class is set for Thursday, Nov. 18. Create a Williamsburg-style wreath using boxwood, a gorgeous, broad-leaved evergreen. The wreath can be hung for Thanksgiving and through the holiday season. All materials are included in the admission fee, and garden gloves are recommended but optional. No previous experience is necessary.
A second Boxwood Wreath class is offered from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1.
An Evergreen class is set for Monday, Dec. 6. Create a beautiful evergreen swag consisting of cedar, white pine, Fraser fir and concolor fir or a beautiful evergreen wreath using a mix of live, fresh evergreen branches. Both projects are easy to complete, making for a good class for beginners.
All materials are included in the admission fee, but guests should bring pruning shears and gloves.
