About
There are so many ways to enjoy the gifts of nature at the Sanctuary. Take the shorter Paved Path or the longer Lake Loop Trail for close-up views of waterfowl including native Trumpeter Swans. Find the Sanctuary spot that’s home to its ambassador birds—Bald Eagles, Red-tailed Hawks and several owl species. Walk the Bluebird Trail, learn about the impact of restoration plantings and observe a prairie restoration project. Visit the Sanctuary gardens to see native plants in action—as well as the pollinators that coexist with them.
Art by local elementary students on display
This year, the Sanctuary will host an art show titled “Wings of Conservation,” featuring the work of students from Gull Lake elementary schools. The exhibit will feature a collaborative mural and bird sculptures using recycled materials, highlighting birds and their habitats. Their art will be displayed at the Sanctuary from April 16-20.
The Sanctuary will be open Saturday, April 19, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary is located at 12685 E. C Ave. in Augusta. Questions? Contact the Sanctuary at birdsanctuary@kbs.msu.edu or (269) 671-2510.
