Sunday, Aug. 17 | Lakeside Concert, Manor House Tours, Free Bird Sanctuary Admission

Enjoy a late summer afternoon of music next month at the W.K. Kellogg Manor House’s annual Tours and Lakeside Concert, set for Sunday, Aug. 17. Tours will begin at noon, and the concert will run from 3 to 5 p.m. The Manor House is located at 3700 East Gull Lake Dr., in Hickory Corners.

The family-friendly concert and tours are free and no registration is required, but donations are appreciated.

The basics

  • Time and date: Bird Sanctuary hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Manor House tours from noon to 5 p.m., Lakeside Concert is from 3 to 5 p.m.
  • Location: Kellogg Bird Sanctuary, 12685 East C Ave., Augusta; Kellogg Manor House, 3700 E. Gull Lake Drive, Hickory Corners
  • Audience: Everyone
  • Fee: Free
  • Registration: None

About

Docents will be available to answer questions about the Manor, offering a unique opportunity to learn about the Kellogg family, their time spent in the home, and its varied history over the years. Enjoy the surrounding gardens with charming vistas overlooking Gull Lake, and explore the estate through a self-guided walking tour. Guests are invited to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the grounds.

In addition to the estate tours, the W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary also will offer free admission that day, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Cereal City Concert Band of Battle Creek will perform beginning at 3 p.m. under a canopy tent on the grounds of the Manor House. Guests are invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets. No outside alcohol is permitted, but beer and wine will be available for sale on site.
