Undergrads: Apply now for KBS summer programs

12.01.25 KBS News

Calling all undergraduate students looking for an unforgettable summer experience—applications are now open for W.K. Kellogg Biological Station’s 2026 summer programs.

A KBS summer

KBS hosts students each summer for a pair of research experience programs: Research Experiences for Undergraduates, or REU; and Undergraduate Research Apprenticeships, or URA. There also are several internship opportunities.

KBS summer students have the opportunity to gain a wide variety of internship or field and lab research experiences, new friendships, and professional references in a residential setting at a world-renowned biological station on the shores of beautiful Gull Lake.

The summer 2026 program will run from May 17 through July 25. Applications close Sunday, Feb. 1, and all applications will be notified of final decisions by Sunday, March 1.
