Blending Art and Science: Turtles

Are you ready to dive into the wonderful world of Michigan’s turtle species? Why not try painting your very own watercolor turtle while learning about their fascinating ecology?

The interactive workshop, Blending Art and Science: Turtles, will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 23. Register at bit.ly/kbs-nature-journal2024 by Monday, May 20.

What to expect

In this workshop, we will delve into the captivating realm of Michigan’s 10 native turtle species while learning watercolor painting techniques. Participants will have the opportunity to observe live turtles and use their observations of color, shape, and texture to create their own watercolor turtle paintings.

Course information

  • Time and date: 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 23
  • Location: W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary, 12685 East C Ave., Augusta
  • Audience: Adults and older children
  • Fee: $25 for Sanctuary members; $30 for non-members
