Bring your little explorers to the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary for a fun and interactive experience called Storybook Walk. Each month we display pages from a new book for visitors to read as they travel along our accessible ¾ mile Paved Path. This interactive outdoor experience allows families to enjoy reading and learning together in nature.

  • Featured Book for August: Plants Can’t Sit Still, by Rebecca E. Hirsch
  • Book Summary: You might be surprised by all of the ways plants can move. Plants might not
pick up their roots and walk away, but they definitely don’t sit still!  Discover the many ways
plants (and their seeds) move. Whether it’s a sunflower, a Venus flytrap, or an exotic plant
like an exploding cucumber, this fascinating picture book shows just how excitingly active
      plants really are.
  • Audience: Family
  • Reading Age: 5-10 years old
  • Language: English
  • No registration required.

Don’t forget to stop by the Sanctuary Overlook after you finish Storybook Walk to learn more about wondrous plants!

Free to members, regular admission fee for non-members.

Accessible throughout the month during normal business hours.
Closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
